We are Buried Thunder, a physical theatre company passionate about new work.

We make original, fantastical work that fuses elements of dance, physical theatre and text, reinvigorating and reimagining archaic tales at risk of being lost or forgotten.

We met at the University of Surrey / Guildford School of Acting where we devised our first piece Bead Upon Golden Bead for the Inter-University Drama Festival in 2017. Our first professional production was a national tour of Our Shore (2019), supported by Farnham Maltings. After the pandemic we have developed two digital projects and accompanying workshops. The most recent of these, Essence (2021), was a digital interactive piece about astrology and identity funded by Arts Council England. Our latest show, Cosima & Damien: The Twins who Danced with Death was commissioned by Volcano Theatre, Swansea (2022).
